When you "dig" a trench in the blue goo with your fingers and wait a few minutes, the trench fills in.

When you first pick up the blue goo it feels hard and crumbly.
Then, it turns liquid and starts to drip off your fingers.
M-Girl really liked putting puddles of goo on her hands and so did I!
Why does the blue goo do this? The particles of cornstarch are too large to dissolve in the water. Instead, when you mix water and cornstarch, slimy strings of goo form! The goo is a colloid. A colloid is a special kind of mixture in which tiny pieces of one type of material are floating in another kind of material. The particles so small you can't see them without a microscope.
